Service Description
This course is open to individuals who are healthcare providers such as: pediatricians, emergency physicians, family physicians, physician assistants, nurses, paramedics and others who initiate and direct advanced life support in pediatric emergencies. This class aims to equip participants with knowledge to identify infants or children at risk of respiratory and/or cardiac arrest, offer strategies to avert such emergencies in neonates, infants, and children, and provide the cognitive and hands-on skills necessary for the resuscitation and stabilization of infants and children experiencing respiratory failure, shock, or cardiopulmonary arrest. PALS Course Content: - Key changes in pediatric advanced life support, reflecting the new science from the American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary - Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care - 1 and 2-rescuer child CPR and AED use - 1 and 2-rescuer infant CPR - Management of respiratory emergencies - Rhythm disturbances and electrical therapy - Vascular access - Resuscitation team concept - Cardiac, respiratory and shock case discussions and simulations - Systematic Approach to Pediatric Assessment Course Options: Option 1: PALS Full Course - Classroom training for first time or students with expired cards. - Class average 8-9 Hours, with 2.5 hours of pre-course work. - CEUs available for most healthcare professions Option 2: PALS Update / Renewal Course - Classroom training for students with an unexpired card. - Class average 4.5 Hours, with 2.5 hours of pre-course work. - CEUs available for most healthcare professions Option 3: PALS Online Fast-Track - Online and in-person hybrid for new or renewing students - Includes online access (4 hrs) and instructor-led skills testing (2 hrs) - Online access provided in confirmation email - Refunds not available for Fast-Track Courses Option 6: ACLS & PALS 1-Day Renewal - Renewal option for students with unexpired certifications. - Class Length: 1 day; up to 10 hours. - BLS Renewal add-on available. Mandatory Pre-Course Requirements: The AHA requires all students taking PALS to complete the Pre-Course Self-Assessment and Precourse Work. - After registration students will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to do the Pre-Course Work. - You can take the exam over until a passing grade is achieved. - You MUST print or email a copy of your precourse certificate with your name on it before registering.
